The first Maid of Cotton was ALICE HALL, from the Tech Class of 1939. The Maid of Cotton competition was conducted in every "cotton growing" state and the Maid had a prominent part during Cotton Carnival season in Memphis. The rest of the year she traveled all over the world and promoted cotton.
